Eddie Gutierrez stable after heart procedure

MANILA, Philippines - Veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez is now in stable condition after undergoing a heart operation at the Saint Luke’s Medical Center on Wednesday, according to a television report. QTV’s News’ on Q reported that Gutierrez, father of GMA Network star Richard Gutierrez, has undergone an angioplasty operation. Angioplasty is a surgical repair of a blood clot on the vessel or narrow artery at the heart, according to the report. Dr Fabio Posas said the veteran actor is now in stable condition and the operation lasted two hours. “He underwent coronary andiogram, subsequent to that we do angioplasty to some of his coronary arteries…two strands were implanted to his coronary arteries," Dr Posas said. Among those who visited Gutierrez were his sons Tonton, Ramon Christopher and Rocky. “Nakausap namin sya kanina, he is doing Ok. He is resting," Tonton said.
