Kira Balinger hopes to win 'PBB' to reunite her broken family

Kira Balinger hopes to win 'PBB' to rebuild her family

Kira Balinger got into a deeper conversation with Kuya about her family and what she she wants to happen if she wins "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition."

Asked which love story affected her the most, Kira said it was her parents' story.

"Even though they're not together-together, they still want to be married for me and that's a really, really big thing for me," she said.

"That's why I want to do well with what I do so that I can give back to them kahit papaano. I cannot fix their relationship but I want them to know that staying married necessarily together but still married is a big thing for me and they're really sacrificing their own happiness just for me," she added.

Kira spoke more about her broken family, saying that she felt she was robbed of her childhood after her father left them. She was 11 when it happened, and she had to "grow up a lot faster."

"There was a time that I was really upset with him (dad) because of what he did to mom and that was going behind her back for somebody else and that was incredibly painful for me po as a daughter," Kira said.

"I just feel like I couldn't experience my childhood the same when that happened. Of course, I enjoyed being with my mom but there's always that voice at the back of your head na 'ay wala kang tatay,' 'oh you have nobody to open up your heartbreak to. I had to grow up a lot faster, Kuya. Sobrang aga na po akong namulat sa mundo and it really changed my perspective on love."

She recalled how heartbreaking it is to see her mother in pain.

"When something like that happens, how are you supposed to have fun, what are you supposed to act like when you're supposed to be strong also for your mom na nakita mong sobrang durog talaga," Kira said.

"There were days talaga na hindi talaga siya makabangon. She's just in bed, crying and crying but she still tries her best kasi may anak siya," she added.

Kira broke into tears when she shared what she envisions for her family in the future: "Just to see them living together once again in one house, to see them have conversations, happy conversations, to just eat together with them. That would really, really be a big thing for me, Kuya."

"To have my Dad back home na hindi siya aalis every month, that he would really stay here for us, 'yun po talaga 'yung pangarap kong makita," she added.

She stressed how she wants to win the competition so she can have a house for her family.

"That's why I want to do well here so I could get a house so that I could bring them together na. To just have both of my parents in one place so I can take care of them, so I could shower them with whatever blessing that I will have," Kira said.

"I just want them in one place na. I really want them together again," she added.

Kuya told her that separation is not a failure, but a means to protect one's heart.

"Ang tunay na pamilya ay hindi perpekto at ikaw, Kira, ang patunaw na minsan may pag-ibig na totoo kahit 'di 'to nagtapos sa iisang kwento," he said. "Kira, ikaw ang nabubuhay na patunay na totoong nagkaroon ng pagmamahalan ang mga magulang mo. You are the testament of their love for each other at huwag mong kakalimutan 'yan."
