Neri Naig breaks her silence following legal issue: 'I refuse to let anger or hurt define me'

Neri Naig has broken her silence weeks after the Pasay courts dismissed the charges against her for syndicated estafa and violations of the Securities Regulation Code early this March.
On Instagram Friday, Neri shared screenshots of herself being escorted by Bureau of Jail Management and Penology personnel during her detention in late November 2024.
In another slide, she shared the statement of her lawyers stating the courts' dismissal of the charges.
According to Neri, she never thought she would be included on the "Most Wanted" list of the Philippines.
"Tinawag akong magnanakaw, manloloko, at scammer. Never naman akong nagtago. Palagi nga akong nasa palengke, sa mga talks, at kahit saan pa—I have always been visible, hindi lang sa social media," she wrote in the caption.
She said that she will share her side of the story when the time is right, wondering out loud if there is a need to narrate everything that happened to her, including her arrest and detention last November, and the embarrassment that she felt from what happened.
"But for now, let me just say this: It was a nightmare. Isang pagsubok at bangungot na hindi ko kailanman malilimutan," she said.
Despite the labels and judgment she faced, she added that she chose to stay silent.
"I’ve learned that when we are in pain, it’s easy to say things we don’t mean. Pero hindi ako 'yun. I refuse to let anger or hurt define me."
While some found joy in her lowest point, Neri also pointed out that there were people who chose to support her, defend her, and lift her up. She expressed her gratitude to them.
"Minsan, pakiramdam natin, hindi tayo pinapansin ni Lord kasi sunod-sunod ang pagsubok. Pero minsan, He’s just busy fixing things behind the scenes. And in every storm, He sends His Army of Angels. This time, kayo ‘yun," she said.
"Maraming, maraming salamat sa inyong pagmamahal, suporta, at panalangin. Hindi ko ito malilimutan..."
In the comment section, Neri also commended her husband, Chito Miranda, for never leaving her side since day one. According to Neri, it was his love that gave her hope.
"Sabi mo, mababait pa rin ang mga tao, kahit hindi ko iyon makita sa mga panahon na 'yun. Life moves forward, and so will we," she said. "Hindi man ako naging Wais sa sitwasyong ito, pero kailanman, never ako nanloko, nanlamang, or nagnakaw sa kahit sino."
Neri's legal issue is in relation to the checks issued by Dermacare Beyond Skin Care Solutions to its investors, which began to bounce after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) released an advisory against the company.
According to SEC, Dermacare is not authorized to solicit investments because it is not registered and has no license to sell securities.
Neri became an endorser and franchisee of the company in October 2020, although she announced in September 2023 that she is no longer affiliated with them.
