Anton Vinzon says he suggested Aya Domingo as his 'Mga Batang Riles' love interest

Anton Vinzon revealed that Aya Domingo was actually his personal choice to play the role of Barbie, his love interest in "Mga Batang Riles."

Anton shared this in an interview with GMA News Online during GMA Network's Thanksgiving party on Wednesday.

Anton said that three actresses auditioned for the character.

"Sinabi ko si Aya kasi parang boyish siya, lalaki siyang gumalaw kaya pasok sa role niya," he said. "Sabi ko parang si Aya 'yung mas nakaka-vibe ko rin kasi kaibigan ko talaga siya. Nag-suggest rin ako."

His pairing with Aya marks Anton's first time having a love team partner.

"First love team ko si Aya. Ang masasabi ko lang is first time lang namin pero grabe 'yung energy naming dalawa kasi naging kaibigan ko rin po siya sa Sparkle teens. Ka-batch ko po siya sa Sparkle teens," he said.

Anton also shared that they trained together in acting workshops for almost a year, so there's no awkwardness between them.

"Marami kayong aabangan na parang under ako sa kaniya. Pero, ayon, masasabi ko lang, sana abangan n'yo ang 'Mga Batang Riles,'" he said.

Anton plays the role of Dagul, who is deprived of love from his family but has found a brother figure in Kidlat, played by Miguel Tanfelix.

"Mga Batang Riles" airs weekdays on GMA Prime at 8:50 p.m. after "Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan." —MGP, GMA Integrated News
