'Star Wars' actors Daisy Ridley and Alden Ehrenreich to star in Philippine-set romcom 'The Last Resort'

“Star Wars” actors Daisy Ridley and Alden Ehrenreich are the stars of the Philippine-set romantic comedy film, “The Last Resort.”

Directed by Donald Petrie, “The Last Resort” is written by Karen McCullah, who was born in the Philippines.

Petrie’s popular works include “Miss Congeniality” and “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” while McCullah wrote “10 Things I Hate About You” and “Legally Blonde.”

Business mogul Manuel V. Pangilinan will be the executive producer, while Ernesto “Bong” Sta. Maria Jr. and Raja Collins are the producers. Simon Heo, Akshay Mehta, and Rick Dugdale are co-producers.

According to a previous report, movie follows a hotel executive sent to scout a new resort location in the Philippines. She will soon meet Ben, a charming expatriate charter pilot.

Deadline reports production for "The Last Resort" will begin in April.

Daisy is best known for her role as jedi trainee Rey in the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy.

Alden, meanwhile, played Han Solo in “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” an origin story set 10 years before “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.”
