Tim Yap recalls encounter with Jin of BTS at Milan Fashion Week

Tim Yap met BTS member Jin at the Milan Fashion Week last year, and according to the celebrity host it's a memorable one!

At the sidelines of his contract signing with Sparkle on Tuesday, Tim looked back on his encounter with the K-pop star during the Gucci show of the fashion event.

"In Milan Fashion Week, or Paris Fashion Week, the celebrities in the room are all together. Si Jin of BTS, [maraming] nakapaligid sa kanya na tao. So, bawal mong mapa-picture, bawal kahit ano," he said.

"So ako, lumalapit ako ng konti. Kasi, you know, andito lang kami. Andiyan lang si Jin. So lumapit ako. Eh, akala ata Koreano rin ako. 'Di ba? Kasi 'yung mga tao doon, they stop everybody else eh. So, pagkatapos, ikot-ikot ako ganyan," he said.

When Jin stood next to him, that's when he decided to have a small talk with the BTS star.

"Nagtinginan kami. [Then I said] 'Hi. Hi, I'm Tim from the Philippines. You know, your fans really love you and I'm so amazed with how much you've cultivated this kind of relationship with your fans. How much they love you and how crazy they are for you guys. You know, it means you know how to love your fans properly. Congratulations on that. Sabi niya, 'oh, thank you,'" he recalled. 

Shortly after, Tim asked for a photo with Jin to which he agreed to.

"Kasi 'yung mga tao nasa paligid, parang wala silang pinayagan. Eh, lahat dito, sikat globally. Hindi pinapayagan. Tapos sabi niya, 'yes.' So, nag-selfie na kami," he said.

Upon posting the photo on Instagram, Tim said many people asked him if Jin smelled good.

"Tapos nakakatawa kasi online 'yung mga tao, 'Mabango ba siya? Mabango ba siya?' Hindi ko naman siya inamoy, no? Magkatabi kami, pero ano 'yun, puwede paamoy? 'Di ba? Hindi ko naman puwede gawin 'yun, 'di ba?" he quipped.

"We had a conversation. I asked for a selfie. Kasi 'yun nga, kasi dinudumog-dumog sila eh, s'yempre. I mean, he's the Jin of BTS," he added.

For Tim, that moment with Jin is an unforgettable one, considering how hard it is to get selfies with them.

"And so, it was unforgettable. Because 'yun pala, it's all in the fan sites all over the world kasi apparently parang it's hard to get selfies with them," he said. 

Tim signed a contract with Sparkle on Tuesday. As he joins the roster of Sparkle artists, GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes said that Tim will be appearing in one of the network's dramas this year. —MGP, GMA Integrated News
