Kris Bernal on dealing with bashers: 'Hindi ko pipiliting magbago'

With a showbiz career spanning almost 20 years, Kris Bernal is no stranger to bashers.

During Monday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" the actress said she doesn't know why bashers often flock to her.

"Hindi ko nga rin alam eh. Siguro dahil shine-share ko rin sa kanila so siyempre 'di mo maiiwasang may papansin, may mambabash," Kris said.

When asked if she gets annoyed with them or tries to fight and answer them back, Kris straightly answered no because, "ayaw ko ng palakihin." She admitted, however, that she talks to her husband Perry Choi about it.

Kris also addressed the comments she's getting from her bashers about their dream house that looked like "munisipyo."

"Mukhang munisipyo 'di ba? Naku, pinaghirapan po namin 'yan. Ang tagal niyan," she said.

Kris also left a message for both her supporters and her bashers. 

"Ako kasi masasabi ko na lang, 'ako to.' Alam mo 'yon? Kung mahal niyo ako, salamat. Thank you dahil andiyan pa rin kayo para sa akin pero kung hindi, hindi ko pipiliting magbago [because this is who am I]," she said.

"Tsaka sa showbiz parang naramdaman ko na rin na naging pretentious ako for so many years. Ngayon gusto ko na lang magpakatotoo," Kris added.

After a two year hiatus, Kris made her acting comeback in the Kapuso drama anthology "Tadhana" hosted by Marian Rivera.

In a three-part series titled "Abo ng Kahapon," the actress will portray a mother with a newborn baby, who moves to America with the hopes of giving her family a better life. She becomes a caregiver to an old man, who abuses her.

On Instagram, Kris said, "I never thought I would return to acting on TV after 2 years+ of motherhood break."

She added that she was "half-hearted to accept" the project, "because I didn't know if I could still act, and because I'm still exclusively breastfeeding."

Kris married businessman Perry Choi in September 2021 after getting engaged in February of the same year.

They welcomed their first child, Hailee Lucca, in August 2023.
