Gabbi Garcia narrates full 'Pinoy Big Brother' audition experience, says hosting is a 'full circle moment'

From dreaming of becoming a “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate to becoming the reality show’s Kapuso host, it is indeed a full circle moment for Gabbi Garcia!
At Saturday's media conference for “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition Collab,” Gabbi said that her audition was for “PBB: Teen Edition 4,” the season won by Myrtle Sarrosa.
“I’ve been such a fan of ‘PBB.’ I grew up watching ‘PBB,’” Gabbi said, recalling that she would ask her parents to delay her bedtime a bit just so she could watch the episodes.
So when they announced that there was an audition for the show, Gabbi made sure to ask her mom to accompany her.
“It was such a long line. I remember 5,000 auditionees that day. I was number 3,900-something. I lined up from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. the next day. Yes, gano’n siya ka-intense,” Gabbi said.
Gabbi recalled that her mom scolded her because she had to go to school.
“Pero kasi I really wanted talaga. I was so curious as a kid to see what’s really going on inside the house,” she said.
Although Gabbi passed the first round of screenings, she fell short on the second round.
“Today, it’s such a full circle moment for me to be able to, you know, audition how many years ago. And then right now, I’m standing in front of you as a host,” she said. “I’m so humbled, and I’m so grateful for this opportunity.”
Also part of the hosts are Mavy Legaspi, Robi Domingo, Bianca Gonzalez, Enchong Dee, Kim Chiu, Melai Cantiveros, and Alexa Ilacad.
"Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition Collab" will start airing on GMA Network on March 9.
The major collaboration is in celebration of the show's 20th anniversary this 2025. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
