Marian Rivera to have primetime comeback, new movie this 2025

Marian Rivera fans, rejoice!
The Kapuso Primetime Queen is set to return to our television screens this year and will have a new film to boot.
In Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras" Wednesday, Marian did not go into too much detail about her projects this year, but teased what her fans can expect from her.
"Definitely babalik ako sa primetime and then movie, definitely this year din," she said.
Marian received her People of the Year 2025 trophy from PeopleAsia magazine in an event on Tuesday.
Of her latest award, she shared, "Kada parangal na ibinibigay sa akin, iba talaga ang pakiramdam. Sobrang grateful talaga ako."
She also expressed her joy that many people are still supporting her Cinemalaya 2024 film, "Balota," especially now that it's election season again.
"Sobrang speechless kami dahil hanggang ngayon 'yung mga tao talaga tinatangkilik ang 'Balota' 'yung napapanahon 'yan dahil alam natin malapit na mag-eleksyon," she said.
In December 2024, Marian won Best Actress at the Cinemalaya 2024 for her performance as Teacher Emmy in "Balota." The film is directed by Kip Oebanda.
The movie landed on Netflix's list of Top 10 Non-English Movies Worldwide this month. It also hit the No. 1 spot in Philippine movies shortly after it premiered on Netflix on January 31.
Last year, she also starred in Direk Zig Dulay's GMA Prime series "My Guardian Alien," which aired its finale episode in June.
