Chinkee Tan says he once did not have school allowance and sold various items for income
Chinkee Tan shared that there was a time during his elementary school years when he did not receive any school allowance and had to learn how to make ends meet.
The financial coach said on “Lutong Bahay” that his father had a business that failed, and then had this strategy to earn income.
“Ang unang ginawa ko kasi nagbenta ako,” he told Mikee Quintos and Hazel Cheffy.
“Ang unang binenta ko, seryoso, is toilet paper.”
Chinkee said that his mother sold wholesale, while he sold retail.
“’Yung wholesale, family income. ‘Yung retail, personal income ko ‘yun.”
“From toilet paper, I sold pants, I sold shoes, I sold shirts. Lahat nabenta ko na talaga,” he added.
How did he choose which products to sell?
“Kailangan syempre, number one, ‘yung gusto mo ‘yung produkto. Naniniwala ka sa produkto, kaya ang lakas kong magbenta talaga. Hindi akong mag-po-promote ng bagay na alam kong hindi maganda.”
Chinkee then revealed that he hit his first million when he was in his twenties.
Dubbed the Pambansang Wealth Coach, Chinkee is best known for teaching his followers how to save and budget their money, be financially literate, be free from debt, and decrease financial stress. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
