Liza Soberano joins Eric Nam's new digital series 'Stop 'N Snack'
Liza Soberano is set to put her cooking skills and foodie knowledge to the test in Eric Nam’s new digital series “Stop ‘N Snack.”
The South Korean singer and actor hosts the new show where he lets American high schoolers try popular Korean food for the first time. Eric enlists the help of a celebrity chef — Deuki Hong for the first episode — and they are assisted by sous chefs Liza and food content creator Susi Vidal.
For the pilot, the group prepared dosirak, a traditional Korean lunchbox with rice, meat, veggies, and other side dishes, for football players.
Liza was added to the cast because she loves Korean food, particularly sundubu or spicy soft tofu stew, and yukgaejang or spicy beef stew.
The Filipino actress was tasked by Chef Deuki to cut the spam into a batonnet, or basic cuts.
“I don’t know what that is. I cook at home,” she said with a laugh.
While she was at work, Deuki said, “Wait, why is it so good?” He added, “That’s damn even spam.”
Liza also nailed cooking the spam and was able to flip them in the pan.
She also impressed with her plating skills. “It’s because I learned how to cook on TikTok.”
The team also tried the traditional way of eating a dosirak, which is to shake all the ingredients together in the box.
Deuki told Liza, “Spam, let me tell you, perfect bite.”
At the truck, Liza was tasked to talk to and serve the students. She instructed them to shake the boxes before eating, and also served cold Korean sesame milk, getting a loud “Thank you Liza” from the team.
The students all ate together then gave positive reviews for the meal.
Liza is currently focusing on an international career.
Her Hollywood debut was playing Taffy in the comedy film “Lisa Frankenstein.” She was praised by American film critics for the role.
Liza also starred in Thai singer and actor Bright’s music video for “Long Showers.”
She previously expressed wanting to join Korean entertainment, and was part of the cast of the digital game show, “Hwaiting.” —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
