Jang Theo says being part of 'Single’s Inferno' was 'fate'

South Korean actor Jang Theo’s experience being part of the cast of "Single’s Inferno" was something he didn’t expect, but was meant to be.

In an interview with GMA News Online Tuesday, Theo mentioned that he never intended to be part of the reality show, and that he was initially unwilling to join the cast.

“I was really going through a hard time and I [could not afford] to be in a relationship, but I ended up being a cast fortunately, so I was like ‘Are you guys serious?’ So, I was like ‘I’m not gonna see anyone, so let’s have fun and see how it goes,’” Theo said.

“That’s why I ended up falling in love so honestly and truly and immediately. I think this is how fate works, right?” he added.

According to Theo, he believed joining the show was “meant to be.”

“I never expected to receive a lot of… this much love. I feel very privileged and surreal. I got so many fans, and it’s hard to describe. I didn’t expect anything from this show,” he admitted.

Despite forming cherished memories and gaining various fans from because of the show, Theo shared that this would be his last time joining a dating reality show as it took a heavy toll on his mental and physical health.

“Personally, I don’t have any regrets at all because I did my all and I don’t want to be back anytime. This is gonna be my last time to be in the reality show. This is kind of like a burden, both mentally and physically. I lost five kilograms for 10 days. This is a good experience, and cherished memory, but I’m not gonna do [it] anymore,” he shared.

He expressed his gratitude to his fans, some of whom have found him to be a role model for romance, and said that he hoped to inspire more in the future.

“My mindset and responsibility has evolved. I really hope that I can be someone who inspire people in a good way,” he shared.

“Thank you for having me, thank you for loving me and thank you for being my fan. I’m not gonna take this for granted, and I’m gonna try my best to reward your love and your support, and I’m gonna try my best."
