GMA Integrated News’ #DapatTotoo digital campaign generates over 5.5 million views

GMA Integrated News’ digital campaign #DapatTotoo has amassed over 5.5 million views across digital platforms, as of writing.
Led by GMAIN’s Social Media Team, the campaign’s short videos feature some of GMA Network’s top journalists like Atom Araullo, Mariz Umali, Raffy Tima, and Mav Gonzales, imparting strong and educational messages with trending words.
Released in time for Valentine’s, the journalists discussed Gen Z relationship terms like “love bombing,” “back burner,” and “breadcrumbing,” among others.
The fresh twist comes in relating the terms to the upcoming midterm elections in May, better educating the Filipino people on how to vote wisely.
“Wag tanggapin ang kaunti kung alam mong karapat-dapat ka sa higit,” Mariz said in her campaign video about love bombing and breadcrumbing.
Meanwhile, Mav on her “How to avoid becoming a backburner?” video reminded Filipino voters that it’s hard to “break up” with a politician you voted for because you are tied to them for years.
“Mahirap "makipag-break" kung ikaw ay botante tapos binoto mo ito. You're tied to that person for three years or six years,” she said.
The campaign has been effective to say the least with netizens and celebrities like Mikoy Morales and Yasmien Kurdi singing praises for its creative execution, relatable and educational scripts, the use of analogies, and the delivery of the messages.
“Dapat Totoo” emphasizes the fight against misinformation and disinformation to help guide voters for the 2025 midterm elections.
The #DapatTotoo digital campaign can be watched across GMA Integrated News’ platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
