Aleck Bovick shares about finding her gender identity at 39, status of love life

Aleck Bovick guested on Mikee Quintos' "Lutong Bahay" where she shared about finding her gender identity last year at the age of 39 and the status of her love life.

In the show's latest episode on Thursday, Mikee and Chef Hazel visited the actress and her friend, Allona Amor, to cook sinigang.

While sampling the dish, Mikee mentioned that Aleck took a while to find her "identity" and it was only last year when she was 39 years old that she did, asking her to share the story behind this.

The way ako kumilos, the way ako pumorma, the way ako magsalita," she said.

Per Aleck, before she turned 40 years old last year, she felt that there was something missing.

Mikee then asked if she has a partner right now, which she answered in the affirmative. .

"Yes, nasa LGBT world tayo ngayon," said Aleck.

She also said that this realization about herself was hard to accept at first.

"Nung una, yes. Totoo ba?

Mikee, for her part, expressed her joy for Aleck.

"You deserve it. I think after everything that you went through, it's about time na kayo naman ang masaya, na ma-feel niyo naman 'yung love na binibigay niyo sa iba."

Aleck currently guest stars in "My Ilonggo Girl" alongside Jillian Ward. The series airs Mondays to Fridays at 9:35 p.m. on GMA Prime.
