'Lolong' returns to primetime with more action, drama in second season

"Lolong" starring Ruru Madrid is back!
The second season of the Kapuso series opened with Lolong and Elsie's (Shaira Diaz) wedding that was interrupted by a troop of villains led by Pancho Magno which led to a bloody encounter.
It also depicted a scene of the same troop of villains ransacking a bus in hopes of finding an "Atubaw." An Atubaw is a tribe of people who live with crocodiles and have the ability to heal themselves quickly.
As the villains held the people inside the bus hostage, Lolong, who is now a masked man, came to fight and save his townspeople.
With no one to help him, Lolong called for help from his beloved friend Dakila, the giant crocodile, who immediately came to the rescue.
"Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan" takes place four years after the first season, with the titular character, Lolong, now a masked hero helping maintain the peace in their small town.
During its 2022 run, "Lolong" became the most watched TV show in the Philippines. It was hailed as "Best Primetime Serye" at the Gawad Pilipino Icon of the Year 2022 and was the Philippines' National Winner for Best Visual/Special Effects at the 2022 Asian Academy Creative Awards.
"Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan" also stars Rochelle Pangilinan, Jean Garcia, Paul Salas, John Arcilla, Martin Del Rosario, Mikoy Morales, Michelle Dee, Klea Pineda, and Rocco Nacino.
