Ruru Madrid shares importance of resilience and patience in his career
If there’s one thing that Ruru Madrid learned in his career, it is the importance of resilience and patience.
In an exclusive interview with Tatler Philippines, the Sparkle star said “Before mo maranasan ‘yung success na sobra mong pinapangarap at sobra mong pinag-pi-pray, kailangan mo talagang dumaan sa matinding pagsubok,” Ruru said.
“And after that, you'll realize na kaya mo pala siya kailangang pagdaanan so that hindi mo i-take for granted yung mga bagay na dadating sa buhay mo,” he added.
Ruru is fresh from his Best Supporting Actor award at the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival in December for his role as the gritty jail officer Xavier Gonzaga in “Green Bones.”
In his acceptance speech, the actor talked about being underdog his whole life and the power of believing in your own capability.
Previously, the Kapuso actor said he is deeply grateful for his showbiz projects.
Ruru is set to reprise his role in “Lolong” season two which is set to premiere on GMA Prime on January 20. He will also be back as Ybrahim in “Sang’gre” this year.
Ruru graced Tatler's December issue cover, alongside GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes and fellow Sparkle artists Julie Anne San Jose, Alden Richards, Sanya Lopez, Gabbi Garcia, Michelle Dee, and David Licauco.
