'Pulang Araw' tops the list of Trendrod's best shows of 2024

"Pulang Araw" is the best show of 2024, according to independent news website, Trendrod.

The recently concluded Kapuso family drama topped the annual 40-point list of Trendrod, saying it "is truly one of the biggest shows to come out on the small screen this year."

Despite its challenges, Trendod said the show "was still able to keep its focus on maintaining the quality from start to finish, as there were no hiccups that caused social media frenzy to be thrown against it."

"Pulang Araw" aired its last episode on December 27, giving a poignant and bittersweet conclusion to the epic six-month tale of survival, sacrifice, and resilience during the Philippines’ battle against Japanese occupation. It had an all-star cast that included Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, David Licauco, Sanya Lopez, and Dennis Trillo.

It leads the 15 Kapuso shows that made it to the Top 40 list of 2024. The others are Running Man Season 2 (#4), Shining Inheritance (#12), Widows War (#15), Jose and Maria's Bonggang Villa (#19), The Voice Kids (#21), Maka (#22), Lutong Bahay (#23), Dami Mong Alam, Kuya Kim (#25), Forever Young (#28), Love. Die. Repeat (#32), Makiling, (#36), My Guardian Alien (#37), and Heart World (#40).
