Jillian Ward reveals trying to quit showbiz several times

Jillian Ward tried multiple times to quit showbiz because of her anxiety.

The Star of the New Gen revealed this in her GMA Integrated News interview with Nelson Canlas on "24 Oras," Wednesday.

Jillian said that while she enjoys making others happy through her job, there are also times when she feels uncomfortable.

"Meron pong isang incident na wake po ng grandfather ko. Ta's umiiyak ako. Ta's may gustong makipag-selfie, gano'n. Super bata pa po ako no'n, mga ano ako, 13," she said.

According to the Sparkle star, growing up, she didn't know how to say no.

"So imagine-in niyo po, andun 'yung kabaong ng lolo ko, umiiyak ako, ta's may papa-selfie, so parang 'Ah, sige po,'" she said.

"Somehow, 'yun po 'yung natututunan ko ngayon na kailangan mo rin ng boundaries to protect your emotional, mental health," Jillian said.

In the first part of the interview, Jillian revealed that her parents parted ways last year.

"Naging sobrang hirap siya for me honestly," she said. "May time na naririnig ko 'yung parents ko nag-uusap sila ng madaling araw bago ako mag-taping. Tapos I have to act like hindi ako naririnig 'yung mga conversations nila."

Jillian is starring in the upcoming GMA Prime series "My Ilonggo Girl" with Michael Sager. It will air weekdays starting on Monday at 9:35 p.m. after "Widows' War."
