Sofia Pablo on 'Green Bones': 'I’m truly honored to be part of this beautiful masterpiece'

Sofia Pablo is beyond happy and grateful to be part of the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Best Picture "Green Bones."

On Instagram, the Sparkle star shared some snaps taken at MMFF Gabi ng Parangal on Friday, which included a photo of her with the cast members, crew, and GMA Executives on stage after receiving the Best Picture award.

"Incredibly blessed to be part of the #MMFF's golden year celebration. Thank you, #MMFF50, for recognizing [Green Bones] with six awards and a total of 12 nominations," Sofia wrote.

"I'm truly honored to be part of this beautiful masterpiece," she added.

Aside from Best Picture, its lead stars Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid bagged the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor awards respectively. Meanwhile, Sienna Stevens was named Best Child Performer.

The film also won Best Picture, Best Screenplay (Ricky Lee and Angeli Atienza), and Best Cinematography (Neil Daza).

"Green Bones" is based on an original story by JC Rubio, senior documentary manager of GMA Public Affairs.

It follows prisoner Domingo Zamora (Dennis) who is notorious for the murder of his sister and her daughter. Now that Domingo is up for parole, newly assigned prison guard (Ruru) takes a personal interest in making sure that he remains behind bars no matter what.

"Green Bones" also stars Michael De Mesa, Alessandra De Rossi, Ronnie Lazaro, Kylie Padilla, Mikoy Morales, Gerhard Acao, Iza Calzado, and more.

It is now showing in over 100 cinemas nationwide.
