‘Pulang Araw’ finale finally brings peace to Adelina, Teresita, Hiroshi, Eduardo

Spoiler warning for those who have not yet watched the latest episode!

The final episode of “Pulang Araw” gave a poignant and bittersweet conclusion to the epic tale of survival, sacrifice, and resilience during the Philippines’ battle against Japanese occupation.

After years of hardship, the series finally gave a sense of relief and resolution to Adelina, Hiroshi, Teresita, and Eduardo, while honoring the painful losses suffered by the nation.

After capturing Col. Saitoh Yuta (Dennis Trillo), Eduardo (Alden Richards) let the Filipino people give the Japanese invader his well-deserved punishment for orchestrating the suffering and deaths of so many of their countrymen.

Eduardo ensuring that justice is both collective and symbolic highlighted the strength and unity of a nation rising from the ashes of war.

The previous episodes also showed Hiroshi (David Licauco) saying his final words after being stabbed by Japanese soldiers. The sad news was delivered to Adelina (Barbie Forteza) by her siblings Teresita (Sanya Lopez) and Eduardo.

But to their surprise, Hiroshi came back, fulfilling his promise to Adelina that he will return alive despite the heavy toll of the war.

The Philippines was able to raise its flag once again, signaling a new chapter for the nation and a testament to the indomitable spirit of the Filipino people, who stood together to rebuild their homeland.

Eduardo and Teresita soon got married. They took care of Juan (Tyro Gabriel Daylusan) and also welcomed their three children named after their late parents, Carmela, Filipina, and Julio.

Hiroshi and Adelina also got married and named their three kids after Hiroshi’s late parents, Chikara and Haruka, and their friend, Akio (Jay Ortega).

Pulang Araw" aired its last episode on GMA Network on December 27. Its episodes are available for streaming on Netflix.
