Denise Julia to file defamation lawsuit against BJ Pascual, Killa Kush
Denise Julia is now in contact with her legal team to file a defamation lawsuit against BJ Pascual and Killa Kush, for the statements they made on the “Bad B*tch Bible” podcast.
On X, the “B.A.D.” and “NVMD” singer posted the full screen recording of the messages between her manager John Vincent Salcedo and BJ’s manager Pearl Acuesta, “for full transparency as we have nothing to hide.”
Denise also gave a message for BJ in the caption. “I’ve stayed quiet for as long as I could, but I needed to say my piece,” she said.
“We went into this wanting to work with you—we’re genuine fans and were so excited about the collaboration,” she said.
“From the very beginning, we were upfront about our budget and what we can afford to execute the music video, the Photoshoot, the album art, the trailer and press photos,” Denise added.
She also said she moved the release of her EP just to be able to work with BJ and “out of respect for your time.”
Denise said Salcedo was trying to make the project work until the end by suggesting solutions and new dates “so we can re-align and no one’s effort goes to waste.”
“What hurts the most is seeing my character publicly attacked over something that’s not just out of my control but is a business negotiation between our managers and conversation that should’ve stayed private. You targeted me to bring me down," Denise said.
She added, “I thought this was something we had agreed on to talk about in person.”
“We are now in contact with our legal team about a defamation suit. I hate that this had to go this way when it didn’t have to,” Denise said.
In a previous post, Denise shared a screenshot of her conversation with podcast host and influencer Killa Kush. She captioned it, “lols biglang bait.”
Kush told Denise, “I was disappointed to know you were BJ's ‘worst celebrity to shoot’ but I wasn't surprised. As with any episode, it's candid and raw. It's a chikahan podcast not a documentary. So I had to share my bit of experience first hand. Otherwise the exchange would be inorganic.”
According to Kush, the podcast’s focus “was always to spark challenging conversations in a casual manner, never to shame or humiliate.”
She also told Denise that it is unfortunate to see how the issue unfolded but she’ll always wish her the best, and hopes that she would still be able to enjoy the holidays.
Denise replied, “Thanks. I'll see you in court.”
“Assuming you’d make a TikTok out of this too, I’ll just add that to the lawsuit. So thanks in advance,” Denise added.
Kush replied, “No worries, merry Christmas!”
In Kush’s podcast episode featuring BJ, the veteran photographer aired his frustrations about Denise, naming her as the most stressful personality he's had to work with.
In the episode, Kush shared how Denise cancelled her first podcast appearance and then arrived four hours late on the rescheduled date.
Denise broke her silence on Christmas Day in a series of Instagram Stories, sharing screenshots and video explanations.
She said that both her and BJ’s team could not agree on a budget. Ultimately, BJ’s team canceled the shoot, "due to the differences in our production process."
Later on Wednesday, BJ released his own set of screenshots and said that his team "made every effort to adjust the budget down to 371K for the one-day shoot," which he said is below industry standards and a detail that was left off Denise's earlier clarification.
Meanwhile, Denise’s creative director and best friend Carissa King also clarified Kush's earlier statements about the singer's tardiness on the podcast.
A busy Christmas Day indeed.
