Diana Zubiri says husband's death in 'Mga Batang Riles' was hardest scene to film
Diana Zubiri said that filming her husband’s death scene in “Mga Batang Riles” was the hardest one to shoot, having gone through the same experience in real life.
“Nangyari rin kasi sa ‘kin before, so parang ayoko na siyang balikan,” Diana said at the series’ grand media conference at GMA Network’s Studio 7 on Friday.
Turning emotional, she adds, “Ayoko nang mag-internalize about dun sa nangyari sa akin dati.”
Diana says she also relates to her character Maying, the mother of Kidlat, played by Miguel Tanfelix.
“Sinasabi ko talaga minsan na nakikita ko talaga na parang anak ko siya dun sa mga eksena kasi medyo dun sa character namin as mag-ina, medyo marami kaming mga hindi pinagkakaunawaan. Marami kaming mga pinagaawayan, ganyan,” the actress said.
She added that she can express emotions and have the character’s hugot as she is also a mother.
“Minsan talagang ganun ‘yung nararamdaman ko kapag pinapagalitan ko ‘yung anak ko. Tas lalaki pa, lalaki ‘yung panganay ko,” Diana said.
Diana was previously married to Alex Lopez, who passed away in 2010. They have a son named King.
Diana is now married to Andy Smith. They have two daughters together, Aliyah and Mimi. Their family is based in Australia.
“Mga Batang Riles” follows the townspeople of Sitio Liwanag, who will do what it takes to keep their homes and fight for their rights against the rich Victor family, who own a realty company and want to take the land to create a modern complex.
It premieres on January 6, 8 p.m. on GMA Network. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
