Miguel Tanfelix says not having a love team in ‘Mga Batang Riles’ is something new and exciting
Miguel Tanfelix is truly no stranger to being on TV, but more often than not, he has a love team partner.
This is why “Mga Batang Riles” is an exciting one for him.
“Ibang experience ‘to eh dahil parang ito lang ‘yung show na wala akong ka-love team,” the actor told GMA News Online in an interview after the action-drama’s media conference at GMA Network’s Studio 7 on Friday.
According to Miguel, it is something new, and he is enjoying and making the most of it.
“In-enjoy na wala ‘ko masyadong aalalayan. Mga inaalalayan ko ngayon, mga lalaki, ‘yung mga bago naming mga kasama sa ‘Batang Riles,’” he said.
Miguel added this new experience does not make him nervous or feel pressured.
“Mas na-e-excite ako. Lagi akong ganun eh, excited ako sa mga bagong things na nangyayari sa buhay ko.”
Despite working on two separate projects with his love team and special someone Ysabel Ortega, Miguel reassures, “Andiyan pa rin naman kami for each other, para i-support ‘yung isa’t isa.”
The actor added that Ysabel is “sobrang excited” about this new series.
“Halos every week, nagkekwentuhan kami about sa mga kaganapan sa set, sa development ng story,” Miguel said. “And interesado siya dahil naniniwala din siya sa project na ‘to. Alam niyang maganda ‘yung ‘Mga Batang Riles’ so rooting siya para sa show, para sa ‘kin.”
Miguel and Ysabel, who are best known for their tandem as Steve and Jamie on “Voltes V: Legacy," confirmed they are exclusively dating in December 2023.
He shares Ysabel also has an upcoming show and their busy schedules are something to still get used to.
“Hanap-hanap lang ng time, ng bakasyon,” Miguel added.
“Mga Batang Riles” follows the townspeople of Sitio Liwanag, who will do what it takes to keep their homes and fight for their rights against the rich Victor family, who own a realty company and want to take the land to create a modern complex.
Miguel stars as Kidlat in the action-packed series.
“Mga Batang Riles” premieres on January 6, 8 p.m. on GMA Network.
