MTRCB 'ready' to guide Geng Geng Network as it prepares to air on free TV

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) said it is ready to guide Geng Geng Network and its influencers and content creators as they prepare to go mainstream on D8TV Channel 31.

"As they navigate the world of television, the MTRCB is ready to guide them and ensure compliance with our standards," MTRCB said in a press release.

“While social media content remains outside the Board's jurisdiction, their contents aired on television will be subject to MTRCB’s review under Presidential Decree No. 1986."

The review board also acknowledged the influence of mainstream and digital media in molding public perception, expressing appreciation for Geng Geng Network’s “proactive approach to aligning with our guidelines.”

“MTRCB is always ready to provide 'Responsableng Paggabay' to all stakeholders within the creative industry, helping to balance creativity and freedom of expression, while ensuring that content is responsible, respectful, and culturally sensitive for Filipino viewers across all media platforms," it said.

Among the talents of Geng Geng Network are Boss Toyo, Ava Mendez, Whamos, Lai Austria, Tukomi, Rendon Labador, and more.
