‘Green Bones’ earns positive reviews following special preview

Green Bones,” starring Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid, garnered positive reviews from viewers following a special preview event ahead of its Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024 release.

According to Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras,” Wednesday, the special preview was headed by GMA Pictures Executive Vice President and GMA Public Affairs First Vice President Nessa Valdellon and other officials of GMA Network and Columbia Pictures.

Film critic Phil Dy said that “Green Bones” is a “good, solid, and well-produced drama.”

Influencer account Lakwatsera Lovers also gave the movie an 11/10, praising the way it was written, the cast, and director Zig Dulay.

Dennis hasn’t watched their movie yet because he plans to watch it at the same time with his wife, Jennylyn Mercado, on the premiere night on December 20.

“Dahil naging effective ‘yung intention namin na kung ano 'yung gusto naming iparamdam sa mga manonood at kung papaano nila maa-apply ‘yung natutunan nila dito sa pelikula sa mga kani-kanilang buhay, paano sila makaka relate,” Dennis said.

“Confident naman ako sa performance ng asawa ko. Talagang kahit saan mo naman siya dalhin, magagampanan niya naman nang maayos at magaling,” Jennylyn said.

The cast of "Green Bones" will be part of Metro Manila Film Festival's Parade of Stars on Saturday. Per "24 Oras" on Wednesday, the event will be attended by Dennis, Ruru, and Sofia Pablo.

The film will premiere at this year’s MMFF on December 25.

"Green Bones" is based on an original story by JC Rubio, senior documentary manager of GMA Public Affairs, with its screenplay written by National Artist Ricky Lee and MMFF 2023 Best Screenplay winner Anj Atienza. It is produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs.

Aside from Dennis and Ruru, veteran actor Michael De Mesa also stars in the film, alongside Ronnie Lazaro, Kylie Padilla, Iza Calzado, Sofia, and more.
