Doug Kramer looks back on Ateneo days as he returns to campus
Doug Kramer looked back on his days as a student-athlete when he returned to Ateneo de Manila University for a basketball game.
On Instagram, the Team Kramer patriarch said it was “so nice to visit the place that started my basketball journey.”
“I still remember the countless hours of trying to improve in this exact gym, Moro Lorenzo,” he said.
Doug recounted his daily routine from way back: classes, workouts at the gym, shooting practice, and training with the team.
“Afterwards, I would drive myself home and study,” Doug said. “Then, repeat the next day. School, training. This was the college grind.”
Doug shared that he met his wife Chesca Garcia in his second year of college in 2003.
“It’s so crazy how I still made time for her despite the schedule,” Doug said. “See hon, you're so special to me! I knew you were the One."
The athlete said that he visited the campus to play against the current Ateneo Blue Eagles and some recruits.
“[Forty-one] now and playing against guys more than half my age. I'm crazy I know. Haha! Was fun and very tiring, but nice to show my competitive side to the younger gen,” Doug said.
“Looking forward to the next one! Let's go Blue Eagles! OBF!” he added.
Aside from playing, Doug and Chesca’s only son Gavin also sported an Ateneo jersey and was able to shoot some hoops.
Doug and Chesca also have two older daughters, Kendra and Scarlett.
