Ruru Madrid shares glimpse of martial arts training for 'Lolong' Season 2
Ruru Madrid is so ready to come back as Lolong in 2025!
On Instagram, the Sparkle star shared some snaps from his martial arts training for the role.
In the post, a topless Ruru, drenched in water, can be seen holding an arnis stick while posed in a combat stance. He also shared a clip of him doing various combat moves against a dramatic rain effect.
“Paghahanda,” Ruru wrote.
“Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan” takes place four years after the first season, with the titular character, Lolong, now a masked hero helping maintain the peace in their small town.
Ruru previously said that he has been training in Filipino martial arts for the role.
The show is set to premiere on GMA Prime in January 2025.
The first season of “Lolong” was aired in 2022 and followed Lolong, who forms an unlikely friendship with a giant crocodile named Dakila. The adventure series also tackled themes of family, friendship, and the environment.
More cast members include John Arcilla, Shaira Diaz, Paul Salas, Rochelle Pangilinan, Klea Pineda, Rocco Nacino, Martin Del Rosario, and many more.
During its run in 2022, “Lolong” became the most watched TV show in the Philippines.
Soon after its season finale, Ruru teased that Lolong would be making a comeback.
