Ruru Madrid gets surprise birthday cake from cast, crew of 'Lolong' Season 2

Ruru Madrid was surprised with a crocodile-shaped birthday cake on set by the cast and crew of "Lolong" Season 2.

According to Lhar Santiago's report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, the celebration is also a thanksgiving for the Kapuso Primetime Action Hero for all the blessings that keep coming into his life.

"For example, last year, ginagawa ko nu'n 'yung 'Black Rider.' Sabi ko nga, ever since ginawa ko 'tong 'Lolong,' napakaraming mga kabataang lumalapit sa akin na sobrang idol nila si Kuya Lolong nila. 'Yung iba nagkukwento sa akin na lahat daw sila sabay-sabay nanonood after school," he shared.

Per the Sparkle star, they are now on their ninth or tenth day of taping and they have a lot to rush because the series is set to premiere soon.

"But we're having fun. Nakita ko 'yung pagtutulungan ng bawat isa, nakita ko 'yung drive at 'yung passion," he said.

It's double excitement for Ruru, as well, because "Green Bones" will be releasing its full trailer on Thursday.

"Sobrang naiyak ako. Nasabi ko na sobrang blessed to be part of this project, to be part of this art," he said. "I'm very excited na mapanood po 'yung full trailer ng 'Green Bones.'"

"Green Bones" is top-billed by Ruru and Dennis Trillo, and is an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024. It is directed by Kapuso filmmaker Zig Dulay,

The film is based on an original story by JC Rubio, senior documentary manager of GMA Public Affairs, with a screenplay written by National Artist Ricky Lee and MMFF 2023 Best Screenplay winner Anj Atienza. It will debut on December 25, Christmas Day.

Meanwhile, "Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan" will premiere on GMA Prime in January 2025. Other cast members include John Arcilla, Shaira Diaz, Paul Salas, Rochelle Pangilinan, Klea Pineda, Rocco Nacino, Martin Del Rosario, and more.
