Rochelle Pangilinan on working with Direk Dominic Zapata in ‘Pulang Araw’: 'A dream come true’
For Rochelle Pangilinan, working with award-winning director Dominic Zapata in “Pulang Araw” is a dream come true.
On Instagram, the Sparkle star shared a behind-the-scenes clip from one of her torture scenes in the show. She also wrote a heartfelt message to Direk Dominic, the director behind the Kapuso series.
“A dream come true!” Rochelle wrote.
According to the actress, working with Direk Dominic has been “one of the most inspiring experiences of my journey” as he was able to capture even the smallest details of her acting.
“Bawat eksena ay mas nagiging makatotohanan because of his vision and dedication. Ang mas hinahangaan ko sa kanya is kaya niyang mag joke para kahit papano gumaan sa set, pero he can instantly switch to serious mode when it’s time to work.”
Rochelle thanked the filmmaker for his “unwavering passion” and for “bringing out the best in all of them”
“Grateful beyond words!” she said.
Rochelle plays the role of Amalia Dimalanta-Torres or Tiya Amalia, the aunt of Adelina (Barbie Forteza) and Eduardo (Alden Richards), who becomes their primary guardian following the death of their mother.
She was among the characters who became a comfort woman in the show.
Her role in "Pulang Araw" has earned the former Sexbomb dancer a lot of praise from netizens. Previously, she received an intense message from a supporter who applauded her role in the series.
Rochelle said in a previous interview that she takes two days to break away from her character.
"Pulang Araw" airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It is also streaming on Netflix.
