Arnold Clavio shares why he immediately returned to ‘Unang Hirit’ after hemorrhagic stroke
Arnold Clavio was supposed to undergo rehabilitation for six months after he had a hemorrhagic stroke in June, but he immediately went back to work in "Unang Hirit" in August.
In Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras,” Friday, the Kapuso broadcaster said that he went back to work because he felt it would help him recover.
“Ginawa kong three months lang. Tinawagan ko sila, gusto ko nang bumalik. Ta’s August, June nangyari ‘to, August. Parang iba ‘yung itutulong niyang energy sa akin para bumalik ‘yung dating ako,” he said.
Arnold added that he hasn't fully recovered yet.
“Talagang may problem ako sa mga steps, mga stairs kaya lagi akong dikit sa wall,” he said.
A hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures or leaks, which causes bleeding inside the brain. This may be caused by a head injury or a weakened artery wall.
Arnold underwent physical therapy to help him regain his strength and return to regular movements.
“Unang Hirit,” the country’s longest-running morning show, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in December.
Arnold hosts alongside Lyn Ching, Susan Enriquez, Suzi Entrata-Abrera, Shaira Diaz, Atty. Gabby Concepcion, Anjo Pertierra, Chef JR Royol, and Kaloy Tingcungco.
"Unang Hirit" airs Mondays to Fridays at 5:30 a.m.
