Ruru Madrid 'deeply grateful' for showbiz projects: 'This journey reminds me to keep dreaming'

With major projects like “Lolong” Season 2 and “Green Bones,” Ruru Madrid is feeling all sorts of “grateful for all the blessings and opportunities.”

In an Instagram post, the Kapuso Primetime Action Hero shared photos of his Filipino martial arts training for the series, and snaps in his uniform for the film.

“This journey reminds me to keep dreaming, work hard, at patuloy na maniwala sa lahat ng plano ng Ama,” Ruru said.

“I’m also deeply grateful for all my loved ones who continue to inspire and support me every step of the way,” he added. “Excited for what’s ahead—truly, nothing is impossible with faith and perseverance.”

“Green Bones” premieres at the Metro Manila Film Festival in December.

It follows a prisoner (Dennis Trillo) who is infamous for the murder of his sister and her daughter. Already up for parole, a newly assigned prison guard (Ruru) takes a personal interest in making sure that he remains behind bars no matter what it takes.

Meanwhile, “Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan” takes place four years after the first season, with the titular character Lolong (Ruru Madrid), now a masked hero helping maintain the peace in their small town.

More cast members include John Arcilla, Shaira Diaz, Paul Salas, Rochelle Pangilinan, Klea Pineda, Rocco Nacino, Martin Del Rosario, and many more.

The show premieres on GMA Prime in January 2025.
