Michael V. wants to highlight importance of Filipino language in his Maki parody
Michael V. is all about promoting the Filipino language in his newest parody song "Hilaw."
In Aubrey Carampel's report in "24 Oras" on Monday, Bitoy said that he wanted to instill a very important message about proper speaking and using the Filipino language in writing songs.
"Parang ano na nabawasan na 'yung art of songwriting," he explained.
Aside from this, Bitoy also wanted to refresh people's minds about studying Filipino.
In his parody song, Bitoy transformed into Yaki, a spoof of the rising OPM star Maki, and performed the song he called "Hilaw" on the Waste Truck.
Based on "Dilaw," the song calls out those who do not speak proper Filipino and instead adopt a conyo accent.
Maki was honored to be spoofed by Bitoy and took to X (formerly Twitter) to repost the Kapuso Comedy Genius's photo imitating one of his poses.
"Ano pong shade nung lipstick? Send link," Maki said.
Maki's hilarious inquiry was met by an equally hilarious response by Bitoy who said: "Hayaan mo sige pagka nalaman ko send ko sa 'yo at saka padadalhan kita for Christmas," adding that he sees himself in Maki.
Bitoy's "Hilaw" parody is just one of the many spoofs he made. Bitoy's recent spoofs include Lola Amour's "Raining in Manila," "Uhaw" by Dilaw, "Pasilyo" by SunKissed Lola, and "Salamin, Salamin" by BINI.
Meanwhile, Maki has been making waves with "Dilaw." He performed the song with American band LANY at the Philippine Arena in October.
