Marian Rivera wins Best Actress for 'Balota' at Rising Filipino Awards 2024
Another recognition for Marian Rivera!
On Facebook on Sunday, the Kapuso Primetime Queen proudly shared that she has won the best actress plum at the Rising Filipino Awards 2024.
According to the award-giving body's letter to Marian, she is recognized for her role in "Balota" for “fostering creative and inclusive thinking within communities to collaborate to achieve all means of prosperity, sustainable development for communities, and nation-building with outstanding contributions and advocacies Filipinos amid any catastrophes and/or challenges.”
The awards night will be held on November 29 at the Great Eastern Hotel Ballroom in Quezon City.
Marian’s role in “Balota” is definitely one for the books. Her highly praised portrayal of the dauntless Teacher Emmy earned her her first-ever Best Actress award at the Cinemalaya Film Festival in August. She shared the award with Gabby Padilla.
Previously, Esquire named Marian as “Actress of the Year,” highlighting her achievement and role in the film.
“Balota,” directed by Kip Oebanda, premiered at Cinemalaya 2024 and had a nationwide theatrical release with new cuts in October.
