Kim Ji Soo says Filipinos are 'very passionate and it shows'

Kim Ji Soo has nothing but praise for the Filipino artists he's been working with.

In his feature on VMan Southeast Asia, the South Korean actor reflected on his Filipino showbiz journey so far.

Ji Soo told the magazine that he sees challenges like cultural and language differences as opportunities for growth.

More than that, he said that being in the country is a fresh start.

“Working in the Filipino entertainment industry has given me a fresh perspective as an actor,” Ji Soo said.

“The energy here is different—Filipinos are very passionate, and it shows on set,” he added.

Ji Soo also admitted that he does feel homesick at times, and that he tries to find “a good Korean restaurant here to bring me a little closer to home.”

But despite that, Ji Soo now also loves Filipino food.

“Filipino food is something I’ve grown to appreciate. Lechon is one of my favorites now,” he said.

Ji Soo signed with GMA Network’s Sparkle in August.

He previously appeared in the Kapuso series “Black Rider” and “Abot-Kamay na Pangarap.”

Ji Soo also starred in the film, “Mujigae” alongside Rufa Mae Quinto and Alexa Ilacad. It was his first time playing a father. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
