Noel Bazaar 2024 kicks off in Parañaque; proceeds to go to victims of typhoons, more

Noel Bazaar 2024 finally opened at Okada Manila in Parañaque City on Friday, kicking off GMA Network's yearly tradition of charity and shopping.

According to Mark Salazar's report on "24 Oras" Friday, GMA Kapuso Foundation led the bazaar's opening, alongside its partners and Sparkle star Sanya Lopez.

Proceeds from Noel Bazaar 2024 will go to those who have been affected by the recent tropical cyclones and typhoons in the Philippines, as well as other projects of the foundation.

"Nung mga nakaraang taon nagkakataon din na may mga bagyong sumalanta sa bayan at nagpapasalamat kami sa lahat ng mga sumuporta sa Noel Bazaar because this is the time that we really need the support of all our kababayan so that we can help out those who are badly hit by the typhoons," said Mayose Gozon-Bautista, President and CEO of Cut Unlimited Inc., one of the partners of GMA Kapuso Foundation.

One of the highlights of the Noel Bazaar is the Celebrity Ukay-Ukay, where shoppers can snag apparel of Kapuso celebrities and personalities.

According to Mel Tiangco's report on "24 Oras" Friday, Sanya, who is this year's ambassador of Celebrity Ukay-Ukay, personally graced its booth during the bazaar's opening.

"Damit ang binibigay ko rin talaga, basta meron akong mga gamit dito na parang isang beses ko lang nagamit," the actress said. "Kung hindi mo naman gagamitin na, ibigay na lang natin lalo na para naman ito sa ating mga kapusong nangangailangan."

The Celebrity Ukay-Ukay booth also includes preloved clothes of "24 Oras" broadcast journalists Emil Sumangil, Pia Arcangel, and Mel herself, as well as SB19 members Pablo and Justin, among others.

Another thing to watch for are Dingdong Dantes' jackets, which will be up for auction at the bazaar.

Aside from apparel, shoppers can also find items such as accessories, furniture, kitchenware, and more, which are all perfect for gift-giving this holiday season.

GMA Kapuso Foundation EVP & COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog shared that the foundation will be distributing school supplies next year and hoped that the bazaar raises enough funds to build actual schools.

"I just received a video from Cagayan, andaming nasira na school, so dapat we should all come together and do our share kasi sino pa magtutulungan except tayong mga Pilipino," she said.
