'Hello, Love, Again' records P85M in sales on opening day
The KathDen fever is at an all-time high during the opening day of "Hello, Love, Again" in Philippine cinemas.
The collaboration film between GMA Pictures and ABS-CBN was released in Philippine cinemas on Wednesday and recorded a whopping P85 million sales in box office receipts, as confirmed by the two production houses through a joint post on Instagram.
Starring Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo, "Hello, Love, Again" marked the highest opening gross for a local movie.
In a statement, Alden expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from the public.
“Maraming salamat sa mga excited mapanood muli ang kwento ni Joy at Ethan. Napakasaya namin and we’re very proud of this film and we’re very excited for you guys to see it,” he said.
Kathryn meanwhile shared her hopes that audiences will feel the love in watching the film.
“Just like what Direk Cathy said, ang pangako lang namin sa inyo sa pelikulang ito puso ang ibibigay namin. So I hope after watching this film yun ang maramdaman nyo di lang kay Joy and Ethan kungdi dahil sa buong pelikula.”
On Tuesday, Alden, Kathryn, and other cast members of "Hello, Love, Again" came together for the film's premiere night.
After watching the film for the first time, Alden and Kathryn couldn't help but turn emotional, sharing a long hug as they teared up.
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, "Hello, Love, Again" is the sequel to their 2019 blockbuster movie "Hello, Love, Goodbye."
The film is now showing in 1,000 cinemas worldwide. In the Philippines, here is the list of cinemas currently screening the movie.
