Pokwang on lost GCash money: 'Nakakaiyak'
Pokwang was among those who lost thousands of pesos due to supposed unauthorized transactions on GCash on Saturday.
On Instagram, the comedienne shared screenshots showing that her funds were claimed by what she estimated were around 30 unregistered cellphone numbers.
"Naghahanap buhay po ako ng marangal nagbibigay po ako ng hanap buhay sa mga single mom, tapos isang umaga pagka gising mo simot ang laman ng GCASH accnt???" Pokwang wrote.
"Nakakaiyak, binangon ko mag isa ang negosyong pinabayaan ng taong inasahan ko pinag katiwalaan ko pati ba naman dito naisahan parin ako?" she added, seemingly referring to her ex-partner Lee O'Brian, with whom she previously shared a business with.
Pokwang is just one of several who raised the alarm online.
In a statement, GCash said it has reached out to affected accounts and that "wallet adjustments are ongoing."
It added that this incident was "due to errors in an ongoing system reconciliation process," and that it's "isolated to a few users."
"We assure our customers that their accounts are safe," it said.
GMA News Online has also reached out to the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group regarding the matter.
Pokwang's previous business with ex-boyfriend Lee was called PokLee Cooking. According to the comedienne, money and business were among the reasons for their split.
This October, Pokwang launched a new business called Mamang Pokwang’s Gourmet.
