Ogie Alcasid, Kim Chiu, MC, and Lassy emerged victorious in this year’s “Magpasikat” competition on "It's Showtime"!

Judges Gabbi Garcia, Donny Pangilinan, Alice Dixson, Direk Rory Quintos, and former president of ABS-CBN Freddie "FMG" Garcia said on Saturday's episode that they had a difficult time choosing this year’s winner as everybody did a great job.

Chief Operating Officer for Broadcast of ABS-CBN Corporation Cory Vidanes awarded the winning team the grand prize of P300,000.

Ogie, Kim, MC, and Lassy, quickly turned emotional and were met with hugs from their co-hosts.

“Grabe, ‘di ko alam mananalo kami!” Kim said.

Ogie then thanked their crew who worked on the performance, and then told his team, “Ang gagaling niyo!” and they all celebrated onstage.

Team Ogie, Kim, MC, and Lassy will donate their prize money to the Angat Buhay Foundation for their relief operations for Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

The other winners are Jhong Hilario, Jackie Gonzaga, and Cianne Dominguez for second place, and Anne Curtis, Jugs Jugueta, and Teddy Corpuz for third place.

Vidanes also gave a speech to thank “It’s Showtime” for bringing happiness to the Madlang People for 15 years.

“Alam niyo po, ang ‘Showtime’ is one big, happy family. Solid, brave, and strong, dahil po ‘yun sa pagmamahal niyong lahat,” Vidanes said. “You gave us the courage to hurdle all our challenges.”

“Rest assured that we will continue. We will continue to be with you and fight with you. Our journey is forever. I am so proud of all of you. You are all great performers. To me, you are all winners,” she added.

Vidanes also thanked the whole crew behind the noontime show for making “It’s Showtime" successful.

The winning team highlighted the importance of taking time to rest and prioritizing self-care through a performance that included a soulful original song by Ogie, a skit about personal struggles by MC and Lassy, and an interpretive circus-like dance by Kim.

After their performance, Kim wrote on Instagram, “I consider myself incredibly lucky to be part of this team." —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
