Marian Rivera salutes teachers for their dedication, love for students: 'Mga pangalawang magulang natin'

Marian Rivera couldn't help but express her admiration for teachers as she shared about her role as Teacher Emmy in the 2024 Cinemalaya film "Balota."

In a video posted by GMA Network on Wednesday, the Kapuso Primetime Queen honored teachers for their dedication and love for their students.

She also encouraged teachers not to lose patience and asked students to value their teachers.

In the clip, Marian got to share the qualities of her character that struck her the most and she identified with.

“May mga ibang instances si Teacher Emmy na talagang huhubugin niya ‘yung personalidad mo as ikaw,” she said.

According to the mom of two, she can relate to Teacher Emmy’s role as a mom, as she is someone who will do everything for her children.

For the Kapuso actress, Teacher Emmy is a good role model.

Balota,” directed by Kip Oebanda, premiered in Cinemalaya in August. Marian's powerful performance led her to win Best Actress at the Cinemalaya, an award that she shared with Gabby Padilla.

After its Cinemalaya run, "Balota" returned to Philippine cinemas this October with a new cut.

Discounted tickets will be granted to teachers and students who bring their valid school ID to the cinemas.
