Jillian Ward says hospital immersion for 'Abot-Kamay na Pangarap' made her respect doctors' work more

As "Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap" nears its end, Jillian Ward looked back on her preparation for the hit series, which involved a hospital immersion where she was able to witness the real work of medical doctors.

On Friday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the Star of the New Gen shared what the most important thing she learned was from that experience.

"Nakita ko po kasi kung gaano kahirap 'yung trabaho ng mga doctor, so natutunan ko po na mas respetuhin 'yung ginagawa nila unang-una sa lahat," she said.

Per Jillian, she was able to meet some patients during the immersion, too, who asked to have photos taken with her and other cast members.

"Bilang artista, dun ko na-feel 'yung andami po pala naming napapasaya talaga," she said.

She also noted that one of the unforgettable experiences from that immersion was witnessing a brain surgery inside the operating room. For her, these experiences are more important to her than fame.

"Sabi ko nga po, parang di na po nag-ma-matter sa'kin kung mag-ra-rate po 'yung show o hindi. At that time kasi sabi ko, grabe po 'yung experiences na binigay sakin ni God. 'Yun po 'yung pinaka-importante sa'kin, 'yung experiences, 'yung mga natututunan ko more than fame and 'yung success," she added.

Previously, Jillian shared that her role as Doc Analyn Santos is dedicated to her late grandmother, who passed away at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap" will air its final episode on October 19, 2:30 p.m., after ruling GMA Afternoon Prime for over two years.

Aside from Jillian, the record-breaking show also stars Carmina Villarroel (Lyneth), Richard Yap (Doc RJ), Dina Bonnevie (Giselle), Pinky Amador (Morgana), Allen Dizon (Carlos), and Kazel Kinouchi (Doc Zoey), among others.
