Euwenn Mikaell impresses 'Forever Young' co-stars Eula Valdez, Michael De Mesa with maturity, acting skills
Veteran actors Eula Valdez and Michael De Mesa have nothing but praises for their "Forever Young" lead star Euwenn Mikaell.
In the media conference of the show held on Thursday, Eula and Michael gushed about the child actor and his uncanny maturity at the young age of 11.
"Parang pinanganak siya para mag-artista," Eula said, commending Euwenn's ability to focus on set.
"Masarap siyang katrabaho. Hindi 'yung karaniwan na, 'Ayoko nang makatrabaho mga bata kasi makukulit sila.' Siya hindi. Hindi siya pangkaraniwang bata," she added.
Michael said he was impressed with Euwenn as early as their table read and became even more impressed once they started taping.
"As an actor, hindi lang siya basta-basta 'yung makikinig sa instructions kasi meron siyang questions. So 'yun ang maganda sa kanya because he’s also a thinking actor," he said.
"So for somebody who's 11, and ganyan na siya magtrabaho, I can say that he’s an extraordinary actor. This boy is gifted. I’m always on my toes pag kaeksena ko siya," he added.
Euwenn was first known for playing Tonton in Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 Best Picture "Firefly." He won Best Child Performer at the FAMAS Awards for his role and also earned a nomination for Best Actor at Gawad Urian.
He also recently starred in the Netflix film "Lolo and the Kid" with Joel Torre and Juan Karlos.
In "Forever Young," he plays Rambo Agapito, a 25-year-old man who is stuck in the body of an 11-year-old boy. He eventually becomes the mayor of a small city.
The series will air weekdays on GMA Afternoon Prime at 4:00 p.m. after "Shining Inheritance." Directed by Gil Tejada Jr., its cast members include Nadine Samonte, Alfred Vargas, Rafael Rosell, Matt Lozano, Althea Ablan, Abdul Rahman, Princess Aliyah, Bryce Eusebio, and more.
