Marian Rivera says she hopes to work with Sassa Gurl and Esnyr again
After working together in “Balota,” Marian Rivera is hoping that she would have another project with Sassa Gurl and Esnyr.
“Baka naman kaya natin serious [na project], pero may twist,” the Kapuso Primetime Queen told GMA News Online on Friday evening ahead of the movie’s premiere night.
However, she said that it might become more challenging because of the content creator's hilarious personalities.
“Wala pa silang sinasabi, tawa na ako nang tawa. Mga lukaret ‘yung dalawang ‘yon,” she said.
Marian also said that she’s open to working with more content creators.
“Kahit sino, open ako,” she said, adding that she invited two drag queens for the event, who transformed into her role, Teacher Emmy.
“Natuwa ako sa kanila, in-invite ko sila,” she added. “Alam mo ‘yun, minsan sa ginagawa mo, hindi mo alam kung sino ‘yung nari-reach mo. Na minsan nagkakaroon ng effect sa ‘yo.”
According to the actress, she and her co-stars really built a strong bond with each other during their filming days.
“Kapag nandun kami, kakain kami ng lunch all together talaga. Magdi-dinner kami, lahat. Tapos halimbawa, kapag may eksena ‘yung isa, nandun lang kami lahat, nag-iintay kami. So parang naging as family talaga kami doon,” she said.
She opened up about having separation anxiety after they finished shooting, and that she even called her husband, Dingdong Dantes, sobbing.
“Pagdating ko ng car, umiiyak ako,” Marian said. “Ibig sabihin lang noon, sobrang napamahal ako sa kanila.”
The Cinemalaya 2024 entry “Balota” follows the story of a land-grabbing tycoon and a former male sexy actor who are locked in a tight race for the mayoral seat of a small town. When violence erupts, a teacher runs into the forest with a ballot box containing the last copy of the election results.
Marian’s highly praised performance led her to win the Best Actress trophy at the Cinemalaya awards night. She shared the honor with Gabby Padilla.
“Balota” will return to Philippine cinemas starting October 16 with a new cut.
Discounted tickets will be granted to eligible teachers and students who bring their valid school ID to the cinemas. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
