Sanya Lopez heartened by acting praises for intense 'Pulang Araw' scenes
Sanya Lopez expressed her gratitude for the positive comments she received for her performance in “Pulang Araw.”
In recent episodes of the historical series, Sanya’s character Teresita Borromeo was captured by Japanese soldiers at the vaudeville theater. While held in a room, Teresita heard the cries of women suffering from sexual and physical abuse at the hands of the Japanese.
Netizens commended Sanya for showing intense emotions through her “mata-mata” acting skills.
In a post on X, Sanya thanked the viewers.
“Halu halo na nararamdaman ko…nakakataba ng puso yung mga komento ninyo sa eksenang napakasakit sa puso…” the actress wrote. “Maraming salamat po.”
To prepare for her role as Teresita, Sanya took on tap dancing lessons and visited El Museo de Zamboanga to learn more about World War II.
"Pulang Araw" airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras” and also streams on Netflix.
