Kristoffer Martin learns boxing moves from Olympic medalist Nesthy Petecio
Kristoffer Martin paid a visit to Santa Cruz in Davao del Sur, where he got to meet and learn boxing from his idol, two-time Olympic medalist Nesthy Petecio.
According to Rgil Relator's report on "24 Oras" Thursday, the Sparkle star first got to check out some local products of Santa Cruz before meeting up with the famed boxer.
Kristoffer couldn't hide his excitement upon meeting Nesthy, who hails from the town.
"Excited ako na pumunta ng Santa Cruz kasi excited ako na masuntok mo. Gusto ko sapakin mo ako," jested Kristoffer upon seeing Nesthy.
The two had the opportunity to step inside a boxing ring, where the actor asked Nesthy about her inspiration in boxing.
“Ever since talaga, idol, pamilya ko. Mama ko at papa ko. Share ko lang din, ito ‘yung pangarap ng papa ko na hindi niya natupad," she said.
Nesthy then taught Kristoffer some boxing moves, such as the jab, straight, and hook.
They later graced the Mutya ng Santa Cruz 2024, with Kristoffer serenading candidates with a song on stage. Nesthy, on the other hand, served in the pageant's selection committee.
Although not a boxer, Kristoffer is a sports enthusiast. In July, Kristoffer bagged first place at an aquathlon race and participated in his first international marathon in February in Kyoto, Japan. He also used to do competitive swimming.
Meanwhile, Nesthy has two Olympic medals under her belt: a silver medal that she won in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and a bronze medal from the 2024 Paris Olympics.
