Julie Anne San Jose issues apology following viral church performance
Julie Anne San Jose has issued an apology following her viral performance at a church event.
"I am offering my apologies," the Sparkle star began, as she acknowledged that "many have felt offended about the incident I was in" and that her performance "caused distress."
"I truly sincerely apologize. This is a lesson learned and it is assured that it not be repeated," Julie Anne added.
She made clear that her intentions really was just "to share joy and give support to the church through the benefit concert" and that she has "strong beliefs."
"My faith is unbreakable and cannot be shaken," Julie Anne said.
She posted her apology note on Instagram Stories Thursday morning, which she ended saying "I pray that we can all move forward with compassion in our hearts."
Videos of Julie Anne's performance of "Dancing Queen" at the altar of the Nuestra Señora del Pilar Parish earlier went viral.
On Wednesday night, Sparkle Artist Center took full responsibility for Julie Anne's attendance at the event, saying "Julie Anne only fulfilled her duties and commitment as a true professional."
"She is a devout Catholic and had no intention of disrespecting the Church and its members," Sparkle added, saying it was their "job to coordinate and clear details with the organizers."
Apart from apologizing to those who were offended, Sparkle also apologized to Julie Anne.
