Ruru Madrid takes on Filipino martial arts training

Ruru Madrid has taken on the challenge of Filipino martial arts training.

In the Kapuso Primetime Action Hero’s latest Instagram Reel, he is seen trying out kicks while balancing. Ruru also learns with trainers how to use a flat Filipino martial arts sword as well as arnis sticks.

“Embracing the art of movement, discipline, and tradition,” Ruru said in his caption.

He added, “Every strike, every flow, every lesson brings me closer to the roots.”

“Pugay sa mga ninuno.”

Ruru most recently starred in the action-packed series “ Black Rider ,” where he did mixed martial arts and motocross training for his role as Elias.

He is back as Ybrahim on the “Encantadia” spin-off series, “ Sang’gre .” Ruru is also part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “ Green Bones ,” alongside Dennis Trillo and Kylie Padilla.
