Gabby Concepcion to perform at Gabay Guro event, star in new GMA Network show

Gabby Concepcion will perform at the Gabay Guro Grand Gathering on September 29 at the Meralco Theater in Pasig City.

According to Lhar Santiago's report on "24 Oras," Thursday, the veteran actor is among the performers of the grand event. Teachers hold a special place in Gabby's heart because his late mother, Lourdes Arellano, used to be an educator.

The Gabay Guro gathering is in celebration of Teacher's Day, held annually on October 5.

"My mom kasi is a teacher and parang nasa bahay lang ako, naalala ko 'yung mother ko. Feeling ko kahit maski hindi mo sila kilala, parang meron silang relationship sa iyo," he said of teachers.

The rest of Gabby's year is bound to be busy because he is also set to star in a new show by GMA Network.

Though he didn't share any details about the new TV project, he mentioned that he will have a story conference before flying to the United States and Canada for his "Dear Heart" reunion concert tour with ex-wife Sharon Cuneta.

He also said he does not yet know who will be with him in the new project, adding that he was supposed to start taping for the show this November but decided to prioritize his concert tour first.

Gabby and Sharon will hold their reunion concert from October 26 to November 29, with performances in California, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Ontario, Winnipeg, and British Columbia.

In October and November 2023, the former on- and off-screen couple also held their successful "Dear Heart" reunion concerts in Manila and Cebu.

Gabby recently starred in GMA Primetime series "My Guardian Alien" as Carlos, alongside Marian Rivera, Max Collins, Gabby Eigenmann, Raphael Landicho, and more.

Helmed by award-winning Kapuso director Zig Dulay, the series followed the story of an alien named 11-1-20-8-5-22-0-12-5. The alien landed on Earth after an accidental crash from outer space, taking the form of Carlos's deceased wife, Katherine (Marian).

"My Guardian Alien" aired its finale on June 28 on GMA Prime.
