Pokwang to launch food business in October

Pokwang is all set to launch her new food business, Mamang Pokwang’s Gourmet, this October.

The actress and comedienne teased her upcoming products on the business’ Instagram page. Products include specialty vinegar, jarred tuyo, tinapa, aligue, alamang, laing, and gourmet chicken. The page’s bio said these are “made fresh from Mamang’s kitchen with no preservatives.”

Pokwang’s previous Instagram posts showed she worked with fellow moms to cook the products.

She also credited her friend, talent manager and showbiz vlogger Ogie Diaz, for encouraging her to start a new business.

“Salamat mare sa help at pag push na bumangon akong muli matapos ang unos sa buhay ko, salamat sa tiwala mo mare,” Pokwang said.

Pokwang also thanked her fellow artists Vice Ganda, Karla Estrada, and Eugene Domingo for their support and the fans for their anticipation.

Mamang Pokwang’s Gourmet will be open for orders through their Facebook page starting this October.

Pokwang previously had a business with her ex-partner Lee O’Brian, called PokLee Cooking. She revealed that money and their business were among the reasons for their split.

Pokwang and Lee split in 2021. She later filed a deportation case against Lee. Among the actress’ complaints against him are financial abuse, intimidation, and abandonment of their daughter Malia. Pokwang won the case last December.

Despite this, Pokwang still allows Malia to see and bond with her father.

She also has an older daughter named Mae from a previous relationship.
