David Licauco on 'Pulang Araw' dynamics with Barbie Forteza: 'We both understand each other better now'
Just like their roles in "Pulang Araw," David Licauco said that his friendship and working relationship with Barbie Forteza have also grown more mature.
On Thursday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the Pambansang Ginoo acknowledged that he has more close scenes with Barbie in the series compared to their projects before.
They previously worked together in "Maria Clara at Ibarra" and "Maging Sino Ka Man," their first and second series together as a love team.
"I think as workmates, as friends, mas naging mature din kami. I'd like to think na we both understand each other better now as compared to before," David said.
He also praised Barbie for her acting skills.
"And ako naman, sakto lang, 'di ba? So depende pa rin talaga, Tito Boy, sa script eh. So kami naman, willing naman kami gawin," he said. "Kasi hindi lang, Tito Boy, sa kissing scenes eh. Even 'yung mga scenes namin ngayon, mas mature na in terms of emotions. So mas grabe 'yung hug."
In "Pulang Araw," Barbie plays the role of Adelina Dela Cruz, while David plays Hiroshi Tanaka.
Last month, their characters had a kissing scene.
"Pulang Araw" also stars Sanya Lopez, Alden Richards, and Dennis Trillo. It airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras" and also streams on Netflix.
