David Licauco says he fell in love with acting in 'Pulang Araw'

David Licauco said he has fallen in love with the craft of acting while working on GMA Prime series "Pulang Araw."

On Thursday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," David said began to see more of acting in his future.

"I would say na 'Pulang Araw' really changed my perspective with siguro my life din," he said. "'Yung acting feeling ko this is something na I can do for a long time kaya ginagalingan ko talaga."

"Mahal na mahal ko na 'yung acting ngayon," the Pambansang Ginoo added.

David said he works hard in his role as Hiroshi Tanaka in the series, especially with memorizing his Japanese lines.

He also said sharing scenes with his talented castmates, Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, Alden Richards, and Dennis Trillo, encourage him to do better in his craft.

"Siguro aral lang din talaga, aral ako nang aral ng acting, maraming trial and error. I think before Pulang Araw kasi sinet ko 'yung... parang nagkaroon ako ng goal na gusto kong hopefully manalo ng award," he said.

David appeared on "Fast Talk" with his fellow Japanese characters in the series: Jacky Woo, who plays his dad Chikara Tanaka; Jay Ortega, who plays Imperial Japanese Army soldier Akio Watanabe; and SkyGarden's Ryo Nagatsuka, who plays a Japanese immigrant in the Philippines.

"Pulang Araw" airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It is also streaming on Netflix.
